Athletics
Eligibility
Weld County School District 6 provides a "no-cut" policy for all middle school athletics. This means that all students may participate in athletics providing they maintain the standards of the District 6 Athletic Participation Policy. Student athletes are expected to maintain appropriate sportsmanship and behavior both on and off the field.
Athletic Participation
Participants must be registered students in 6th, 7th or 8th grade at a District 6 school, D6 Charter School, recognized Christian school or approved Homeschool organization.
To be cleared for sports, all required forms must be completed online. These forms require electronic signatures from both the parent/guardian (18 or older) and the student-athlete. Electronic signatures are legally binding.
Per Greeley-Evans School District 6 and the Colorado High School Athletics Association guidelines, all athletes must have a current sports physical on file. Physicals are valid for 365 days.
The registration fee is $35 per middle school sport, with a maximum of $70 per student and $105 per family.
- Athletic fees are waived for students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunches.
- To qualify, the Meal Benefits Application MUST be completed through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and an approval letter submitted to the athletic secretary.
- Payments are made through our REV TRACK SITE after registration is completed.
Participants MUST meet academic eligibility standards set by District 6
In order to be eligible to compete an athlete must:
- Have an active sports physical on file, (good for 365 days).
- Be registered to play.
- Not have any suspensions for the week eligibility report is run.
- Be academically eligible to compete.
- Have NO outstanding student fees.
- Complete Annual Student Data Update (ASDU) and Meal Benefits application.
Academic eligibility point system:
- Each D = 1 point
- Each F = 2 points
If a student has 4 or more points, they are ineligible for the upcoming week's competition.
Eligibility Timeline:
- Thursday- Preliminary eligibility report run, students and coaches are notified.
- Friday-Monday morning- Students can attend lunch work sessions or tutoring to complete and turn in missing work to raise their grade.
- Monday Afternoon- Final eligibility is determined
If a student is academically ineligible after Monday's report they cannot compete in any games that week (Monday-Saturday). Coaches and students are notified.
